If you are anything like us you will be more worried about making sure your fur kids are well catered for more than yourselves, this is why I have put these FAQ's up at the front of this page!
Over the years we have had many many dog guests both large and small come to stay and the garden fencing has contained them without trouble. We would never say they are totally secure as if you have a complete escape artist then where there is a will there is a way and all that! Due to the gardens being sizable we have purpose built dogie gates so you can decided how much or how little of the garden you want your fur-kids to have. You may wish for them to be able to roam and play in the whole of your enclosed garden or you may wish them to remain in the particular garden "room" that you are occupying, the choice is yours. Being dog owners ourselves we know only too well how important it is to know that the four legged family members are contained and happy then, we too can relax.
No not at all. We so appreciate that dogs are very important members of the family thus they are welcome to use all of the cottage along with their human parents.
We love all dogs no matter shape, size or breed. We say up to 3 dogie guests per cottage, but usually we are happy to allow more - just give us a call.
Yes. Some of the very best walking in the country is at the end of your garden with 9,500 acres of Quantocks (SSSI & AONB). The coast is also only a mile and a half away. We also have our 3/4 acre enclosed woodland doggie playzone with agility course.
Yes. All the local beaches are dog friendly year round, although in the summer at Minehead beach you have to keep to the right hand side. For best sandy beaches, Blue Anchor, Dunster and Bream Beaches fit the bill. Your local beach is Kilve, is a mile and a half away.
Yes each cottage has a dedicated doggie spa area which has hot and cold shower taps, doggie baths and a drying area.
About 80-90 % of our canine guests are rescue people and the majority have issues of some sort or another so the cottages and their gardens (ie tall close board garden fencing) are designed to account for this. The Quantock Hills are very quiet if you see anyone else it is a rarity The dog zone is only for our cottage guests use and for the 3 years that we have had it I don't know of one occasion when someone has had to queue to use it.
Yes we have 2 within walking distance. The Hood Arms is at the bottom of the lane. The food here is exceptional. We also have the Plough Inn at Holford, again this is a very good local pub.
Well all dogs need to be spoilt especially when they are on their hols. If you go to our "treats" page on this site by Clicking Here you will see that we have a number of very good local service providers who provide treats from hydrotherapy to Reiki and dog walking and sitting.
No not at all. We appreciate that you are a responsible dog owner and that you will look after our much loved and cherished cottages and their gardens as you do your own home. If your dogs like to sit on the sofa not a problem just bring lots of blankets to cover them. The only thing we ask is that dogs not be left in the cottages and or gardens by themselves. They are in a strange environment and they may not behave with the decorum that they do at home. Everywhere in Somerset is dog friendly and Karen who lives in the village offers a dog walking and sitting service if you did want to nip out without the woofies.
